National Community-Based Live Program on 70 years of Moluccan presence in the Netherlands

Empowerment, Agency & Future-oriented.

Beyond Walls joined forces with Museum Maluku to create a nationwide Live program on March 21, to commemorate, remember, celebrate and amplify 70 years of Moluccan presence in The Netherlands. This period marks the arrival of large groups of Moluccan families as a result of the independence war, proclamation of the RMS and decolonization then exactly 70 years ago. Hosted by Rocky Hehakaija and Jeftha Pattikawa. With collaborations in the Netherlands, Portugal and Maluku.

Beyond Walls created BETA DISINI in collaboration and co-creation with Moluccan communities in the Netherlands in Vaassen, Vught, Ommen, Tiel, Ridderkerk and Rotterdam and Ambon, Maluku & beyond to show the world: BETADISINI (I Am Here).

BEYOND WALLS developed a community-based program concept and co-creation method, curated and produced the program and visuals, which consisted of 8 Live items on 8 different locations throughout The Netherlands and Ambon, Maluku. Parts of the visuals produced by Beyond Walls were broadcasted by NOS.

The livestream was viewed by over 50.000 people in the Netherlands, Maluku and other places in the world. The NOS broadcasted fragments of BETADISINI during their evening program.
